How I made $1928 in only 4 days: Whudda Weekend!
January 15th, 2007

Wow, whudda weekend! As of the moments I am writing this 9:33pm Monday the 15th of January. I have made $1,928 in sales of a product I created last week titled “How to Cheat at Bum Marketing.” I have received just over 160 orders for this product since Thrusday at 10:24pm, the 11th of January when the product hit the marketplace. I released this product as a WSO. A WSO is a Warrior Special Offer and is basically just a marketplace inside of a bigger forum community. (WarriorForum.com)
The way I see it there was 4 major keys to my success.
Pay attention here because, I did all of this on purpose. I set out with my current success already expected as long as I did what I am about to tell you. I do not believe this to all have been a fluke, as I made each calculated decision on purpose.
Every one of these aspects can be duplicated on any forum
1.) I have been a part of this community for almost 6 months now which gave me access to very valuable information. I knew what the community as a whole liked and disliked. I knew what there fears and fantasy’s were by being an active member in the community. You can do this with any forum community, if they do not have a marketplace you’ll have to sell the product on your own site. You then just include a link to where they can buy this product in your forum signature box.
2.) I formated my sales letter better then most other sales letters I saw inside the forums marketplace. I used exstensive BB code (special html style codes that forums use to give text diff. styles) To layout and format my sales letter in a very clean and easily readable manner. I believe the viewers saw how meticulously I had created my sales letter, and subconsiously linked that to the quality my product also. “If he took this much effort into just his sales letter he must really care about his business, and his product must be of very high quality.”
3.) In the days leading up to my product release, I gave out a few smaller products or trinkets for free. These products were also of high quality and usefullness. This got my name into their minds as well as the level of quality I produce. Not to mention they were thankful for the free gifts. I distributed these gifts by placing links in my forum signature boxes and making more then the usual amount of posts for a few days to increase exposure.
4.) I kept my finger on the pulse of this market by always observing the spikes in interest or trends. I then capitalized on one of these spikes to create the highest chance of success for myself. Even though my product could have been marketed as a stand alone product, I chose to give it a marketing spin to fit right along with the spikes of interest at the time of my product launch. Capitalizing on the momentum or waves of big trends can slingshot your success rate so much higher then if you tried to create your own waves.
Those are the 4 keystones in my eyes, however, there were a couple other helpful tactics thrown in like garlic to a pot of mashed potatoes.
- I created a teaser video and uploaded it to youtube so that everyone could get a small taste before they bought.
- I created support packages as an upsell oppurtunity to my product.
- I offered a 100% no questions asked refund to ensure satisfaction.
- I advertised daily prizes for those that were already a customer, to get those still “on the fence” to hurry up and buy.
These I am sure helped greatly to take as much sales off the table as possible without needing to do much extra work. I plan on doing this once or twice a month from now on. As I believe I can duplicate this success over and over again as long as I implement the concepts mentioned. You can do it too… Lets all get rich and party together on giant yacht!
Onwards and Upwards,
Justin Brooke
